Veg Fried Rice Recipe | Restaurant Style Quick Recipe | Chef Sanjyot Keer

Written recipe for Veg fried rice

Prep time: 1 hour
Cooking time: 20 mins
Serves: 6

For boiling rice
• Rice 500 gm
• Water to soak
• Water for cooking rice (3X of rice)
• Salt to taste
• Oil 1 tbsp
• Wash the rice to remove excess starch and soak it in fresh water for at least 15 minutes.
• Set water to boil in a pot, add salt to taste, oil and the soaked rice, stir and cook until rice is cooked 80-90 percent. This will take about 8-10 minutes.
• Transfer the cooked rice in a sieve or a colander so to drain the extra water. Keep aside to make fried rice.

For making fried rice:
• Oil 3 tbsp
• Spring onion bulbs 1/4th cup (chopped)
• Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
• Spring onion greens 1/4th cup (chopped)
• Green chilli paste 1 tbsp
• Veggies:
1. Carrots 1/3rd cup (chopped)
2. Cabbage 1 cup (chopped)
3. Capsicum 1/3rd cup (chopped)
4. French beans 1/4th cup (chopped)
• Sugar 1 tsp
• Paneer 150 gm (small dices)
• Soy sauce 1 tbsp
• Red chilli sauce 1 tbsp
• Salt & pepper to taste
• Vinegar 1 tsp
• Spring onion greens for garnish (chopped)
• Set a pan on high heat, add oil, spring onion bulbs and ginger garlic paste, sauté for a minute.
• Add spring onion greens, green chillies, veggies and sugar, mix well and sauté for a 2-3 minutes on high flame.
• Add paneer and mix gently, sauté it for a minute.
• Add soy sauce, red chilli sauce and salt & pepper to taste, mix and cook high heat for a minute.
• Add the cooked rice, mix gently and cook for another 2 minutes.
• Add vinegar and some freshly chopped Spring onion greens, mix and toss well, your restaurant style veg fried rice is ready to be served, serve hot with schezwan sauce on side.

Can You Straighten Wet Hair? 7 Wet Hair Sins You May Be Committing

YouTube is awash with beauty advice ranging from how to properly apply eyeliner to the best strategy for detangling hair. While makeup tips are relatively harmless, the wrong hair advice can have a disastrous impact.

Can you straighten wet hair? Here’s 7 wet hair sins you should avoid that many blogs promote.

1. Can You Straighten Wet Hair?

After you go swimming or take a shower, your hair might seem more manageable. But this can be extremely misleading.

The urge to do things like apply a flat iron or curling iron to your hair can cause really serious damage. Wet hair is far more vulnerable to damage than dry hair.

Your hair has protein bonds that are weaker when the hair is saturated with water. While this seems to equal sleeker hair, it’s really a sign that the hair is on the brink of breaking.

Adding a drastic change in temperature like heat only ensure that breakage happens faster. Never straighten your hair while it’s wet even if you’ve towel dried it thoroughly.

2. Detangling Wet

Let’s be clear. It takes the same amount of time to detangle your hair wet as it does when it’s dry.

The myth that detangling in the shower is one of the leading cause of hair damage everywhere. The truth is that standing in front of the mirror instead of the shower head when you comb out your hair won’t cost you any time.

Instead, it’ll earn you stronger locks since your hair hates being tugged while it’s wet. Use detangling products if you’re convinced your dry hair just won’t cooperate with a detangling.

3. Not Having Detangling Equipment

Sometimes detangling your hair before a shower isn’t enough. You might encounter new tangles once you begin the shampoo process.

Make sure you have the right wet hair tools before attempting to work through any tangles while in the shower. These tools aren’t strong enough to use while your hair is dry, but they’re perfect for molding to your hair’s needs once it’s saturated with water.

These are the only tools that should touch your hair when your shampooing or conditioning. They’re a unique exception to detangling hair wet, and are only recommended after you’ve taken out the major tangles while it’s still dry.

The bonus of using wet hair detangling brushes and combs is that you’ll have less work when you exit the shower. Simply and go to get a sleek look.

For natural hair, you can apply a light leave-in after you exit the shower to smooth out any frizzies. As your hair lifts with the humidity, it’ll produce well defined curls.

4. Aggressive Brushing

You are not at war with your hair when it’s tangled. Yes, it’s annoying and you’d probably rather be doing a million other things.

But taking your time to patiently work through your hair is a form of self care. Your hair is an extension of you.

Be gentle in how you approach it especially when it’s wet. A special wet brush isn’t an excuse to rush through the detangling process.

If you brush too aggressively, you’ll tear at your hair. Start at the tips and work your way gently up to the roots. Hold on to the section of hair where you’re brushing to ease the tension.

5. Rubbing Too Hard

Another wet hair mistake is towel drying or rubbing too hard. You want to get the conditioner all throughout your hair, but you don’t have to over handle your hair in the process.

This is a major mistake for natural hair. You assume all your hair wants is more moisture, but it also wants a gentle touch too while it’s still saturated with water.

If you have heavy hands, try using a leave in spray instead of rubbing in conditioner. Use a terry cloth towel to gently blot your curls until it’s not dripping. You can find out more about towel options on this site.

Once the drip is gone, you can opt to blow dry using a diffuser or sit under the dryer until your hair is mostly dry. If you’ve handled your hair well in the shower, a wash and go is definitely a viable option.

Some people use a t-shirt to dry their hair to avoid the hair breaking.

6. Styling Too Soon

Rushing through your hair routine helps no one. Your hair will thank you for waiting to use heated tools until after your hair is completely dry.

There’s no exceptions to this rule. Some curly girls might argue that they only need to add a few touch ups to the ends using a curling iron.

But even the tips aren’t a good idea until you’re sure the dampness is gone. With leave in conditioner, it’s easy to get tricked into thinking hair is dry when it’s really still damp.

What you’re feeling is the heat of the product and not your own hair strand. Hot hair does not equal dry hair.

7. Wet Ponytails

We all know at least one person who can take a blowtorch to their hair and never seem to experience any damage. You watch in awe as they sport sleek ponytails straight out of the shower with little gel or product added.

Unfortunately, most people can’t boast these exceptional genes. Hair is delicate.

Don’t pull your hair into a ponytail or bun until you’re sure it’s dry. This might mean having to use a product, but products used on dry hair makes it easier to avoid damage.

The Wet Hair Deal

Can you straighten wet hair? Absolutely not and let’s never go there again.

Keep anything hot, harsh or too aggressive away from your hair when it’s sopping wet. Wet hair just wants the gentle touch of a gentle towel or t-shirt before getting released to the elements.

Back Workout to Gain Muscle (SKINNY GUYS!)

If you have been looking for a full back workout to gain muscle and build a bigger wider back, especially if you are a skinny guy, then this is the video for you. Jesse from ATHLEAN-X is back to show you the exact back workout he used to develop thicker wider lats and traps from the top down. There is no doubt that the changes are noticeable and every part of the back are developing as a result of the hard work being put in.

To start, Jesse picks a staple compound lift to form the centerpiece of his back workout. For him, this is the deadlift. Not only does this movement have tremendous carryover to other elements of his training and function but it did a great job in helping him to overcome some of the postural deficits that were causing him significant problems early on in his training.

From here, he moves onto a horizontal rowing movement. There is a choice between two back exercises at this point. The first is the barbell row to gain muscle. This classic movement is done to help thicken the back from front to back by building more depth in the interior muscles of the back (namely the rhomboids, paraspinals and even the lats). The movement is done from the more traditional hang position as opposed to from the floor in a pendlay variation of the exercise.

If the barbell row is not chosen then the alternative option is the seated row. This is typically done with a cable machine but of course can be done with bands if you are training at home. The key to this is the hand position in relation to the torso. Rather than holding the hands at the level of the navel, it is helpful to set the hands at a position lower. This demands that you reach forward and down, which will create a great stretch on the lats and prime there for a stronger contraction on every rep due to the stretch reflex created from this position.

Moving on, the next focus is a vertical pulling movement. Here the back exercise options are either the classic pullup (this can be done weighted or unweighted) or the lat pulldown. Obviously, the pull-up is going to be more accessible of an option to those training at home but either will suffice. If able to use the pulldown machine, make sure to experiment with the rocking variation shown. This allows the elbow to not only have an easier time getting into adduction (driven into the side of the body) but also behind the body into extension. The combination of these increases in range of motion allow for a better recruitment of the lats on this key pulling movement.

This is the point when many back workouts would end. That said, given Jesse’s history of chronic postural issues, there are three additional exercises that are done every time he trains his back. The first is one that is actually done at the end of every workout he does (along with facepulls not shown here), and that is the weighted carry.

There is no need to do lots of volume here. The key to gain muscles is consistency, and the accrued volume over time that makes the biggest impact. A few laps with dumbbells at the end of the workout is enough to stimulate the traps additional to the work they are already doing on the heavier deadlifts and rows.

Next up is the plate trap raise. This works on the all important lower traps. If you fail to acknowledge the traps as two separate areas you will likely overlook the benefit gained from working this area of the muscle with a different exercise. You will gain much more stability with overhead movements when the lower traps are strong and developed. This back exercise is one of the best ways to achieve that.

Finally, the hyper row is an exercise that helps to target the lower back. The addition of the dumbbell row to the movement will have some direct impact on the rear delts but the act of rowing is actually done to prolong the time that you must stay in the extended position and therefore allows for better recruitment of the lumbar paraspinals on every rep. Don’t focus on the number of reps here but rather the quality of the rep if you want to make the most of this back exercise.

As you can see, Jesse’s complete back workout is focusing not just on the different functions of the back but on the different muscles that make up the back.

Tips for a versatile commercial portfolio

If you’ve been in the world of commercial photography for a while, you might be familiar with the story of “everywhere girl,” a model who posed for a stock photoshoot in the 1990s. In the decades since, her photos have appeared throughout a vast range of marketing projects—on posters and brochures, in books, on blogs, and far beyond.

Even though she’s become something of a photo-world celebrity, and although there are millions of different stock photos available these days, that model, whose name is Jennifer Anderson, continues to find her pictures, well, everywhere.

The “everywhere girl” story is more than just a funny anecdote; it also contains a powerful lesson about building a successful commercial Licensing portfolio. Great stock photos don’t just sell once to buyers within one industry; they sell like hotcakes, to all sorts of buyers, over the course of many years. The everywhere girl photos were so versatile they appeared in school textbooks one day and billboards the next.

One of biggest challenges in commercial stock photography lies in creating sets of images that have that kind of widespread appeal—but it’s also something to keep in the back of your mind as you grow your Licensing portfolio. Here are our tips for creating a timeless collection of images that are relevant to a number of different uses.

Tip #1: Branch out

You might feel pressure to define your style or conform to a fixed aesthetic, but in creative Licensing, you want to appeal to a wide variety of potential clients. That means doing what you do best but also experimenting with different styles and genres to see what works.

Today’s commercial trends range from getting back to nature and protecting our oceans, which can be represented in landscapes and adventure photos, to working remotely and embracing the gig economy, which can be illustrated in business/lifestyle pictures. Even within a specific niche, like the CBD wellness trend or the rise of minimalist skincare routines, you can span several genres, from product/beauty shots to conceptual flatlays to docu-style environmental portraits.

Creative stock photographers adapt and evolve with the times, and often, that means trying new genres and tracking what sells. You could find, for instance, that although you started out as a straightforward landscape photographer, your hiking photoshoots with models end up selling better.

We recommend checking out trending categories on 500px and Getty Images, like food, travel, street, still life, fashion, etc., even if it’s not your area of expertise. Don’t be afraid to change it up and venture into new territory.

Tip #2: Be inclusive

Commercial photography has a significant role to play in challenging stereotypes, eradicating bias, and promoting acceptance. According to research, 70% of Millennials are more likely to choose one brand over another if the first demonstrates diversity and inclusion in their ads.

Today’s customers and brands alike are craving images that break the mold and celebrate diversity in all forms, from size inclusivity to gender inclusivity and everything in between. Commercial photographers can keep the momentum going by amplifying voices from within their communities. Collaborate with friends of all ages, ethnicities, identities, etc., or source local talent on social media for your next photoshoot. Document the diverse cultural landscape of your hometown.

Too often, image-buyers search for photos around a specific theme—family dinners, coworking spaces, eco-travel, etc.—but if they search those terms and find only photos with one demographic or group of people represented, they’re likely to skip right over them. Photos that accurately portray real customers, on the other hand, sell over and over again.

When working with models to create inclusive images, remember to keep the lines of communication open. Ask for input: what kinds of photos would they like to see in ads, and what subjects do they feel are still underrepresented? Capture a variety of group shots that celebrate community and belonging, and then take individual photos that highlight each model’s personality. Go into every shoot with a positive, uplifting, and collaborative attitude, and keep your ears open for ideas.

Tip #3: Expand your shot list

While we’re on the subject of models, remember to get every possible combination on set; even if you go into it planning to shoot a family dinner, you could also break it up and do a couple’s session, solo portraits with the kids, cooking shots, etc. You could also capture some handwashing details while you’re at it.

Bring a change of outfits, and scout a location that features a number of different backgrounds; a city park, for instance, could have lush trails, playgrounds, and vibrant gardens all in one place. A studio or home offers even more freedom to bring things in and move them around. You only get one opportunity to have everyone in one place, so take advantage and capture as many different scenarios and perspectives as possible.

It can help to keep a running list of commercial stock photography shoot ideas. Many of these ideas could potentially be combined and executed within a single shoot, saving you time and money and yielding more high-quality photos for your Licensing portfolio. Just remember to send your models your shot list so they know what to expect, and invite them to add to it if they’d like.

Tip #4: Leave room for improvisation

In stock photography, variety is the name of the game, so it’s important to keep moving between poses and trying out new things with your camera and models. Even when you’ve completed your formal shot list, you can continue to look for and generate new ideas.

A simple change in context can expand the possibilities of a shoot; get close for some portraits, and then go wide for some environmental shots that highlight your surroundings. Mix up your vantage point so it’s not all similar medium or wide, straight-on shots. Capture different formats and orientations (portrait, landscape, etc.) so that different clients can use different crops.

Use a variety of lenses; open that aperture for a shallow depth of field to draw attention to your subject, or shift your focus to appeal to different types of clients. “Stay ready to move around your models to capture different perspectives,” the 500px Content Team suggests.

When working with models, whether they’re professionals or not, it’s crucial to capture genuine emotions (that means no overly happy models laughing while eating salad). Improvising on set and having your models participate in activities they enjoy can help create those natural, emotional expressions, so ask your models to forget you’re there and have fun with it.

Tip #5: Make it universal

“While content featuring models does sell more often, sometimes buyers are looking for content that doesn’t feature anyone,” the Content Team explains. For that reason, it can help to mix in some general landscapes or still lives while you’re shooting with models. Have your models in the frame, and then grab some images without them.

A family photoshoot, for instance, could include portraits of the family pet; a lifestyle session could include window-lit food shots, or a hiking-themed shoot could include sweeping views of the wilderness. An outdoor fashion shoot could become an urban/cityscape session. The more categories and genres you can cover, the more versatile the photos will be.

Tip #6: Tailor your keywords

Versatile photos need versatile keywords. After applying basic words and phrases in bulk, go ahead and tailor additional keywords to individual images. Even photos of the same people could have a range of different emotions (e.g., happy, sad, daydreaming, disappointed, etc.) and themes (e.g., togetherness, individuality, adventure), all of which can be tagged on a case-by-case basis and added to your titles and descriptions. A photo with people will include keywords relating to their age, ethnicity, gender identity, relationships, etc., while photos without people will be tagged “no people” or “no one.”

Without going in and modifying your keywords individually, you could be limiting your sales potential; photos from the same shoot, for instance, could appeal to an outdoor lifestyle brand on one hand and a conservation group on the other, provided they have relevant metadata. “Use your descriptions, keywords, and titles to highlight different contexts within your images,” the Content Team advises.

Tip #7: Follow the news

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, commercial photographers were presented with the opportunity to fill a content gap featuring PPE, new habits, and social distancing. Those who anticipated the need for these kinds of images were able to create in-demand, marketable photos.

This example might be an extreme one, but it does tell us something about the importance of keeping up with the news and staying ahead of the curve. In a broader sense, growing awareness of climate change has led to an increased interest in photos that feature sustainable ingredients, products, and lifestyles, and the continued focus on health and safety in a post-pandemic world has made wellness-themed photography even more relevant.

Keeping up with newsworthy events is the first step towards identifying new and emerging trends and creating fresh content on subjects that are popular but haven’t yet been extensively covered or illustrated.
